How to read these numbers

Each page shows total return, meaning it assumes dividends were reinvested in the stock itself. That is why the figure differs from the plain change in share price, especially for companies that have paid dividends for many years.

The annualised return turns a multi-year gain into an average yearly rate, so periods of different lengths can be compared. The largest drop shows how much the investment fell from its previous peak and is the most honest way to see the risk you would have had to sit through.

Stocks listed in the United States are shown in dollars. If you invest from Portugal, your return in euros also depends on the exchange rate, which can add to or subtract from it. The Euronext Lisbon stocks are in euros and carry no such effect.
