About Sonae (SON)

Sonae is one of Portugal's largest private groups, structured as a holding company with stakes in several businesses. The main one is food retail, through MC (Continente), alongside specialised retail (such as Worten), shopping centres, telecoms (a stake in NOS) and a financial arm.

It trades on Euronext Lisbon under the ticker SON and is part of the PSI index, the benchmark of the Portuguese stock market. Because it is a diversified holding, the share value reflects the whole set of its holdings rather than a single business.
