About Jerónimo Martins (JMT)
Jerónimo Martins is one of Europe's largest food-retail groups. In Portugal it owns Pingo Doce and the Recheio wholesaler, but most of its sales come from Poland, through the Biedronka supermarket chain, the leader in that market. It also runs Ara, expanding in Colombia.
It trades on Euronext Lisbon under the ticker JMT and is one of the largest companies in the PSI index, the benchmark of the Portuguese stock market. Because it sells mostly in Poland, its results are also affected by the Polish economy and the zloty exchange rate.
