About Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B)

Berkshire Hathaway is a conglomerate led for decades by Warren Buffett. It owns whole businesses in insurance (GEICO), rail (BNSF), energy and retail, and manages a large portfolio of stakes in listed companies, historically led by Apple, Coca-Cola and American Express.

The class B shares (BRK.B) were created to give access to the stock at a far lower price per share than the class A. The company pays no dividend: it reinvests all profits. It trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and is part of the S&P 500 index.
