About Novo Nordisk (NVO)

Novo Nordisk is a Danish pharmaceutical company with over a century of history, the world leader in diabetes treatment and, more recently, in obesity. The drugs Ozempic and Wegovy, both based on semaglutide, turned it into one of Europe's most valuable companies and account for a very large share of revenue.

The shares trade in New York under the ticker NVO as an ADR (a certificate representing shares in the Danish company), with the primary listing in Copenhagen. After years of steep gains, the stock corrected sharply between 2025 and 2026, as direct competition arrived in obesity, above all from America's Eli Lilly, trial results disappointed and pricing pressure built in the United States.
