About Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY)

Bristol Myers Squibb is one of the large US pharmaceutical companies, especially strong in oncology and cardiovascular disease. Among its most important drugs are Eliquis (a blood thinner sold in partnership with Pfizer), Opdivo (cancer immunotherapy) and, in the past, Revlimid. It scaled up with the 2019 acquisition of Celgene.

It trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker BMY and is part of the S&P 500. It is a dividend stock. Its big challenge is the "patent cliff": several of its best-selling drugs will lose exclusivity over the coming years, so growth depends on launching new products to offset that decline.
