Personal Accident Insurance Calculator
A personal accident policy does not pay a flat amount: it pays the capital multiplied by the disability percentage certified for you, and only above the minimum written into the policy. Enter what yours says and see what follows.

Permanent disability is a multiplication
The policy sets a capital for permanent disability, and what you receive is that capital multiplied by the percentage a doctor certifies. The percentage is chosen neither by you nor by the insurer: it comes from a clinical assessment against a table, which may be the national disability table or a table of the policy own.
The minimum percentage is where expectations break
Most policies only pay above a minimum percentage. Below it the cover does not pay a proportional share: it pays nothing. Other policies use a different rule and deduct a number of points from the certified figure, which reduces the payment without cancelling it. These are different rules, and the difference is the whole payment.
The daily allowance starts after the waiting period
The hospitalisation cover pays a set amount per day, but almost always after a waiting period expressed in days. With a three-day wait and a ten-day stay, seven days are paid. There is usually a maximum number of days as well.
Treatment costs have their own capital
Medical costs are reimbursed against receipts, up to a capital that is separate from the disability capital. Spending the treatment limit does not reduce what you receive for disability, and the reverse is equally true: two covers, two ceilings.
Worked example
A policy with 50 000 EUR of disability capital, a 10 % minimum, a 40 EUR daily allowance after a three-day wait and 5 000 EUR for treatment costs. With a certified 30 %, ten days in hospital and 1 200 EUR of costs, you receive 15 000 EUR for disability, 280 EUR for seven days of allowance and 1 200 EUR of costs, totalling 16 480 EUR. Had the certified figure been 9 %, the disability part would fall to zero for sitting below the minimum, and the total would be 1 480 EUR.
